Effect Of Nanometeric Carbon And Zinc Particles Application On Leaf Mineral Content, Yield And Fruit Quality Of Flame Seedless Grapes
Nano technology, Carbon nano tubes, Nano zinc, Flame seedless grape, Leaf mineral content, Yield, Fruit quality.
This investigation was carried out through two successive seasons (2014 and 2015) of 5 years old flame seedless grapevines, cultivated at a private orchard in loamy soil texture, at Sammnod region, Gharbiya Governorate, Egypt. This research consists of two independent experiments : The first experiment was aimed to investigate the effect of nano-carbon and nitrogen fertilization levels on growth, leaf mineral content, yield and fruit quality. Ten treatments were applied as a randomized complete block design with three replications. The result indicated that 80%N from the recommended requirment+0.6% carbon nano tubes (CNTs) increased significantly leaf area, fresh and dry weight, total carbohydrates % and concentration of N, P, K, Mg, and Fe in leaves, weight of 100 berries, and juice weight of 100 berries compared with the control. Also results showed that yield of combined application of 80% conventional fertilizer of nitrogen and nano-carbon at 0.6% was equal to these supplied with 100% conventional fertilizer (control). This indicated that the utilization rate of nitrogen fertilizer was increased after combined application of nano-carbon, which can save the N fertilizer amounts. The second experiment was devoted to investigate the effect of nano-zinc on growth, leaf mineral content, yield and fruit quality. Six treatments were applied as a randomized complete block design with three replications. The result indicated that spraying grapevines with 0.4 ppm nano zinc increased significantly leaf area and fresh weight compared with control; treatment with 1.2 ppm nano zinc increased significantly total carbohydrates, leaf concentration of Fe, no. of clusters / vine, cluster weight and yield. Also results showed that 0.4, 0.8 and 1.2 ppm nano zinc had a significant increase on yield compared with the conventional fertilizer. This indicated that nano zinc application decreased the utilization rate of zinc fertilizer which can save the amounts of zinc fertilizer which needed to obtain good production.
