Eco–Friendly microbial biosynthesis of Chitinases and formation of [N-acetylglucosamine]
Chitinase, GlcNAc, Chitin, Glucosamine & Purification
N-acetylglucosamine is the monomeric unit of the polymer chitin, the second most abundant carbohydrate after cellulose, and is known as the major cell wall constituent of higher fungi and crustacean shells. The chitinaceous wastes are the second abundant discarded materials following the agricultural wastes and having very hard impact on the environment as a very rigid waste. In Egypt, they are generated huge amounts of marine debrises and wastes. The utilization of these aquatic wastes, particularly the chitinaceous wastes represents two benefit means, the first is the environment safe and the second is the economic production of high value-added products (chitinolytic enzymes and important bioactive compounds, namely N-acetyleglucoseamine and chitooligosaccharides, which have many important application especially in the medical field. In this study, a total of 36 local microbial isolates isolated from rhizosphere soil cultivated with healthy plants in Awlad-Sakr Centre land, Al-sharqia governorate, Egypt.
