Many medicinal plants continue to provide valuable therapeutic agents for the treatment of diseases throughout the world. This work is focusing on two plants growing in Egypt; viz, Cissus rotundifolia and Sansevieria cylindrica. Cissus rotundifolia (Forssk.) Vahl. (Family: Vitaceae) and Sansevieria cylindrica Bojer ex Hook. (Family: Dracaenaceae), are native to the subtropical regions of the African continent and cultivated in Egypt for ornamental purposes. Genera Cissus and Sansevieria are reputed to be of beneficial effects in the traditional system of medicine. Genera Cissus and Sansevieria are reported to contain saponins.
