Geopolymer material is a binding material formed through the reaction between active alumino-silicates and alkali activator. It can be applied in some cases as a viable alternative to the Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), in construction fields and as restoring materials due to its good properties such as high resistance to corrosion and fire, high compressive and tensile strength, low permeability and good acid resistance. In this thesis, the metakaolin and alkali activator (mix of sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate) were used as the basic constituents of the geopolymer. An attempt was conducted also to study the sintering of the prepared geopolymers. Moreover, green and sintered geopolymer foams were prepared through addition of silica fume waste material. In another section of this thesis, the effect of nano sand on the properties of green and sintered geopolymer was studied. Finally, nano nickel aluminate spinel waschemically synthesized and used as coloring agent to prepare colored geopolymer. The phase composition and physico-mechanical properties were investigated in details through this thesis. The results revealed that green and sintered geopolymer as well as geopolymer foams and colored geopolymers having good properties were successfully obtained in this study
