Plants gained an increasing interest due to their containing of bioactive compounds that read to several medicinal virtues and a great importance for health. Recentry, the use of piants as herbal therapy has been considered a good source oftherapeutic compounds with minimum toxicity, naturar origins, lower side effects and relativery rower costs as compared to synthetic drugs. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic disorderes characterizedby hyperglycemia resurting from defects in insulin secretion, insurin action (insulin resistance), or both of them. DM affects about 5yo of the globar populati on (chakrabatri and Rajagopalan, 2002) and reads to abnormar metaborism of carbohydrates, fat and protein. This poor metaboiic control increases the risk of cardiovascurar disease including atherosclerosis and advanced glycation end (AGE) products.
