Production and Characterization of Keratinase Enzyme Produced from a Newly Isolated Microbial
Strain and Some Biological Applications
Keratinase, father waster, ruminant feeding, statistical, optinizatin
This study aims to throw light about the following topics: 1. Isolation and purification of microbial strains able to utilize keratinous wastes as a sole carbon and nitrogen source. 2. Screening for the most potent isolate for keratinase production. 3. Identification of the most potent isolate by 16s rRNA sequenced gene. 4. Optimization of the culture conditions to increase the keratinase production. 5. A sequential optimization strategy, based on statistical experimental designs was employed to enhance the production of keratinase. a) Plakett-Burman design b) Central composite design 6. Partial purification of keratinase enzyme. 7. Studying the properties of crude and partial pure enzyme. 8. Studies the enzymatic degradation of feather keratin by single factor at a time and by statistical optimization strategies. 9. Application of the produced feather meals as substitutes for soybean meal in ruminant’s rations.
