Environmental Thermal Binders
The ability of microwave irradiations to enhance the reaction rate, decrease the polymerization time, reduce or eliminate the auxiliary of reactions and enhance polyurethanes acrylate properties was investigated. In addition to that, the possibility of application the synthesized polymers as binders in textile pigment printing were also examined during this study The first part of this work involves comparing between properties of polyurethane acrylates synthesized via microwave irradiation and thermal heating. The formation of the characteristic functions groups and existence of segments phase separation pattern were proved from FT-IR spectra, Mn, Mw and PDI were determined using GPC tool. Improved thermal stability corresponding to synthesized polyurethanes was proved from TGA and DTG analysis. The ability of microwave irradiation to enhance the Tg value also was tested. The crystallinity % and average crystals size were calculated from XRD and TEM respectively
