Phytochemical and Pharmacological Studies on some Cyperus plants
The work has been undertaken with the objective of searching for naturally occurring substances of potential biological activities in Egyptian flora. Through this investigation useful information was derived from the application of the modern techniques of chromatography (column and paper chromatography) and spectral measurements including UV, MS,1D and 2D NMR. The work in this thesis described the chemical characterization in addition to different bioassays of the extracts of Cyperus laevigatus L. (family Cyperaceae).
