Abstract:-3-(5-Methyl-1-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde (1) was synthesized via the reaction of excess Vilsmeier reagent with phenyl hydrazone. The reaction of compound (1) toward active methylene derivatives led to give compounds. The substituted pyrazole derivatives were prepared via reactions of compound 1 with hydrazine hydrate and different amino pyrazoles. On the other hand, compound 1 reacted with P-methoxy acetophenone to give the α-β unsaturated chalcone derivative which in turn react with each of ethyl cyanoacetate and malononitrile to give the corresponding derivatives, Several new pyrrole derivatves were synthesized via the reaction of 2,5-dihydro-4,5-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-Thioxo-1H-pyrrole-3-carbonitrile with ethyl chloroacetate, chloroacetone, ω-bromoacetophenone, ω-bromo-4-methylacetophenone, chloroacetonitrile or iodomethane to give the corresponding s-alkylated derivatives. In addition, the antimicrobial activity of some selected derivatives was studied. 2-amino-3-cyanopyridine derivatives were synthesized by treating cyclic compounds containing active methylene group with arylidenemalononitrile in the presence of ammonium acetate. The behavior of 2-amino-3-cyanopyridine derivatives toward some electrophiles as triethylorthoformate followed by nitrogenious nucleophiles as hydrazine was reported; also, its reactivity toward phenyl isocyanates, thiourea, formic acid and formamide was investigated, with the aim of obtaining some interesting non-mixed heterocyclic compounds. In addition the antimicrobial activity of some selected derivatives was reported. 2-Amino-1-aryl-1,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-4-phenylquinoline-3-carbonitrile derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of cyclohexanone with 2-benzylidinemalononitrile and the appropriate of aniline derivatives. The reactivity of some of these newly synthesized derivatives toward carbon disulfide and further toward hydrazonoyl halides were also studied. In addition, the antimicrobial activity of the newly synthesized derivatives was reported.
